London, March 27, 2006: The HSBC Start-up Stars awards meant for small businesses are to be presented in October this year.
The award, in its sixth year, appreciates innovation, creativity and determination in Britain's small businesses.
Last year Club Asia won the prize, which is a unique London based radio station, launched by two sisters from Essex. In a short duration of three years, it had become one of the fastest-growing commercial radio stations in London.
This year the first prize amount has been increased to £25,000 and the organisers are focusing on local businesses to decide an initial group of 25 regional winners who will compete for the top place.
The names of 10 national finalists will be announced in September with each finalist winning a business prize package worth £4,000.The competition is open to anyone who has started a business in the last three years.
