London, Monday March 30, 2006: Almost two out of three companies in the United Kingdom have fallen prey to mis-selling of telecom services, according to a new report.
A research conducted by BT showed an increase of 13% of such instances in recent months.
A survey covering 1,000 small and medium sized firms found that more than a third of small firms are receiving misleading offers from companies trying to sell them telecom services.
Some telecom companies have gone to the extent of switching telephone services to another supplier without their consent.
According to Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, Mis-selling is becoming a significant issue for the small to medium-sized firms in UK. Increasing number of these firms are finding themselves to be victims of telecom company's underhand tactics.
Most of these companies take business loans to start up and operate on thin finances. Such issues sometime disturb their financial budgets.
